ABOUT DGMS CBT EXAMS

Mining is a war against unpredictable natural forces and as working conditions change over time, the individual present must make immediate decisions about the work being done, which is associated with safety. Therefore the practical and immediate decision of the lead manager and the governing body is very important to prevent the loss of life and property. To assess the capacity of the qualified people to hold those positions and to issue certification, two Mining Inspection Boards, one for the coal mines and one for the Metalliferous mines, serve under the chairmanship of the Director-General of Mining Safety.

Skills tests are different from university exams. In these tests the emphasis is on the practical aspects of managing/supervising a mine/district apart from theoretical knowledge. In the case of Manager’s and Assistant Manager’s,  the competency test consists of a written part only. In 2015, an examination of Computer based Manager’s (First and Second Class) was introduced. Students must obtain a mark of not less than 50% in writing (computer-based) to pass. In the Manager’s examination under the Metalliferous Mines Regulations 1961, from now on the same is the requirement to qualify for the tests. For Field candidates ie persons not holding Degree in Mining Engineering or Diploma in Mining the candidates have to appear in five subjects namely Mine Management Legislation & General Safety, Winning and Working, Ventilation, Mining machinery and Mine Surveying. Depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidates, exemptions from other papers / subjects are granted.

To become familiar with the actual online exam interface and practising more number of questions candidates can join test series prepared & checked by the Subject Experts(First Class Certificate Holders, IIT ISM Dhanbad Alumnus, Eminent Professors) in the field of Mining, Mechanical and Management at https://www.webliexam.com/first-second-class-managers-certificate-exam
